How to Set Up Your Voice Profile

Why your voice profile matters

When Quelist generates a follow-up message for you, it doesn't just write a generic "hey checking in!" text. It writes in YOUR voice — your tone, your phrases, your energy.

That only works if your voice profile is set up well. Here's how to make it great.

Step 1 — Be specific about your tone

Don't just say "casual." Say "I text like I'm talking to my best friend. I use lowercase sometimes. I say 'girl' and 'hey friend' a lot."

The more specific you are, the better your messages will sound.

Step 2 — Give real phrases you actually use

Think about the last few messages you sent that felt natural. What words did you use?

Examples of great phrase inputs:

• "I always say 'no pressure at all' at the end"
• "I use 🙌 and 💕 a lot but never 😍"
• "I call my customers 'friend' not 'hun'"

Step 3 — Give phrases you'd NEVER say

This is just as important as what you do say. If you hate "I wanted to reach out" or "touching base" or "this opportunity" — say so. Quelist will never use them.

Step 4 — Paste real messages that worked

This is the most powerful input. Find 1-2 messages you actually sent that got a positive response and paste them in. Quelist will learn your rhythm, your sentence length, your personality.

Step 5 — Review your profile summary

After the setup, Quelist shows you a summary of your voice profile. Read it carefully. If something doesn't sound right, hit "Edit my answers" and refine it.

Can I update my voice profile later?

Yes! Go to Account → Your voice profile → "Redo voice setup" anytime. We recommend updating it every few months as your style evolves.
